研究テーマ
「Development of Dynamic Real-Time System to Support Tourist Activities」
要旨
This study aims to develop a system that takes into account dynamic real-time situations to provide effective support for tourist activities using not only PCs and mobile information terminals (smart phones and tablet type information terminals) but also wearable terminals (smart glasses). The system was developed integrating Web-GIS (Geographic Information Systems), social media such as SNS and Twitter, recommendation systems, and wearable terminals into a single system. The PCs, smart phones and tablet type information terminals are used indoors, and the smart phones, tablet type information terminals and smart glasses are used outdoors. In particular, when the system is used during tourist activities, smart glasses are the most suitable of the various information terminals.
This study demonstrates the originality of the system in enabling users to receive information on tourist spots and routes dynamically in real time to support their tourist activities effectively. It shows the usefulness of the system as a means of acquiring information safely and conveniently by using smart glasses to display in real space the accumulated information on a virtual digital map. The usefulness of this system, especially when used outdoors, can be summarized in the following three points:
1) Reduction of constraints of time and space: Because the system can provide information using smart glasses with or without a recommendation request, users can acquire appropriate information anytime, anywhere.
2) Realization of a dynamic real-time situation: By taking account of each user’s situation and the information that becomes a topic on Twitter, the system can provide users with information relevant to each situation in real time.
3) Reduction of the burden of information acquisition: Because the system can provide information relevant to the situation at any time, the occasions for users to acquire information via terminals are reduced, enabling them to engage in efficient tourist activities.
